Hello, my name is Laura, and I’m excited to be transitioning into the field of TEFL teaching. While I don’t have formal experience teaching English yet, I bring with me a strong academic background and extensive experience in teaching and mentoring within higher education.
My background is in chemical research, where I spent several years working in academia. During this time, I tutored undergraduate students, led lab practicals, and facilitated small-group learning. These experiences taught me how to communicate complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and create a supportive, engaging environment—skills that I believe are directly transferable to teaching English as a foreign language.
In my teaching, I focus on clarity, patience, and building students’ confidence. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand new concepts, and I find it especially rewarding to see students grow and become more independent in their learning. Although I come from a science background, I’m enthusiastic about helping learners use English to connect with the world around them.
I’m currently working to develop my skills in TEFL and am eager to grow as an educator in this field. I’m excited to bring my academic experience, dedication, and enthusiasm into the English classroom, and I look forward to supporting students on their learning journeys.
Thank you!
